Frequently Asked Questions
Can I cancel my Andaman ferry ticket?
Yes. Cancel by emailing info@bookyourferry.com with your PNR and the passenger names to cancel — cancellations are processed by email only. Charges depend on timing: Rs 250 per person more than 48 hours before departure, 50% of the fare between 48 and 24 hours, and no cancellation within 24 hours.
How much are the cancellation charges for Andaman ferries?
Charges are Rs 250 per person for cancellations more than 48 hours before departure, 50% of the total ticket cost between 48 and 24 hours before, and no refund within 24 hours of departure. Convenience fees are non-refundable, and GST is refunded proportionally on the cancelled amount.
Will I get a refund if the ferry operator cancels the sailing?
Yes — a full 100% refund, including all fees, when the operator cancels for weather, technical, or operational reasons. You can also reschedule to the next available ferry at no extra cost, with priority on alternative services. Operator cancellations carry no charge to you.
Do Andaman ferries get cancelled due to weather?
Occasionally, mainly during the monsoon months (roughly June to September) when rough seas can suspend sailings at short notice. If your ferry is cancelled for weather you receive a 100% refund or a free reschedule. Morning departures are usually calmest and least likely to be affected.
How late can I cancel my ferry booking?
You can cancel up to 24 hours before departure. Cancelling more than 48 hours ahead costs Rs 250 per person; between 48 and 24 hours it is 50% of the fare. Within 24 hours of departure no cancellation is allowed and the full amount is charged.
How long does a ferry ticket refund take?
Refunds go back to your original payment method — 7 to 10 working days for cards and net banking, and 3 to 5 working days for UPI and wallets. The refund equals your ticket amount minus any cancellation charges, with GST refunded proportionally.
Can I reschedule my ferry instead of cancelling?
Yes. Rescheduling with the same operator costs Rs 150 per person, subject to availability and any fare difference, and must be requested at least 6 hours before departure. A ticket can only be rescheduled once — after that it cannot be cancelled or changed again.
Can I get a 100% refund when I cancel?
A full refund applies only when the operator cancels, or for government travel restrictions or natural calamities. A normal passenger cancellation always carries standard charges — there is no 100% refund even with plenty of notice. A medical emergency with a valid certificate qualifies for a 50% refund.
