Makruzz Ferry 2026: Prices, Timings, Booking & Class Review

Quick answer: To book a Makruzz ferry, choose your route and date, compare the available vessel and class, then review the final total before paying. Premium, Deluxe and Royal are class names across the fleet, not a promise that every sailing offers all three. Confirm food, baggage and boarding requirements for the selected ticket. BookYourFerry is an independent booking platform, not Makruzz’s official website.

For Port Blair to Havelock ferries, compare a direct sailing with any clearly labelled via-Baratang itinerary before choosing: they are different journeys. Use the fare breakdown guide to compare the final totals, not just a historical base price.

Considering alternatives? Read our operator comparison for cabin and booking considerations. Historical prices are not live quotes.

Review evidence: We do not currently publish a verified aggregate traveler score for this operator. Compare current sailings, final prices and ticket conditions; individual reviews are not a reliability guarantee.

Makruzz in 3 lines: Makruzz operates multiple vessels and three main classes: Premium, Deluxe and Royal. Departure count and fares vary by date. Check live inventory for the lowest available fare.

TL;DR / Key Takeaways:

  • Premium Class: Budget option, lower deck, Rs 1,250-1,775, confirm refreshment inclusions
  • Deluxe Class: Mid-range, upper deck with views, better seating, Rs 2,180-2,300
  • Royal Class: Check cabin layout, seat availability and any refreshment inclusion for the selected vessel; historical fare reference Rs 2,940-3,150
  • MV Makruzz Pearl operates Premium class only (no Deluxe/Royal)
  • Check every leg once your dates are fixed; no universal advance-booking window is established here, and availability must be checked for your date

Makruzz Ferry Classes Overview: What’s Available in 2026

The Makruzz ferry offers three distinct seating classes — Premium, Deluxe, and Royal — but availability depends on which vessel you’re boarding. As one of Andaman’s premium ferry operators serving 1.5 million passengers since 2009, they’ve positioned themselves between budget carriers like Green Ocean and ultra-premium services.

Here’s what’s running in 2026: MV Makruzz and MV Makruzz Gold both offer all three classes, while MV Makruzz Pearl operates Premium class only. A fourth vessel, MV Makruzz Ruby, is announced for the 2026-27 season, and from 1 October 2026 Pearl moves onto the new Baratang route. Ruby’s departures had not appeared in bookable inventory for 1 or 15 October when we checked on 29 September 2026. Check released sailings and the assigned vessel for your actual travel date; published seasonal information is not a daily service guarantee.

If a specific class matters to you, check the assigned vessel and its available class in live search. Do not assume that a historic departure time identifies today’s vessel.

Schedule snapshot — checked 29 September 2026 for travel on 1 and 15 October 2026 (both dates matched): Port Blair → Havelock 08:00 and 13:00 (Premium from Rs 1,500 base fare, 90 min); Havelock → Port Blair 10:00 (150 min) and 15:30 (90 min), from Rs 1,450; Havelock → Neil 10:00 (from Rs 1,700, 60 min); Neil → Port Blair 11:30 (from Rs 1,750, 60 min); Port Blair → Neil 08:00 (from Rs 1,950, 180 min). Base fares exclude port and fuel charges; these are dated planning examples, not a daily-service guarantee.

Makruzz Premium Class Review: Is the Base Option Worth It?

Premium class gets you aircraft-style seating on the lower deck for Rs 1,250-1,775 — perfectly fine for the 90-minute journey if you’re watching your budget. You’ll find 208-262 seats depending on the vessel, arranged in a 2-2 configuration with a center aisle.

See how Makruzz Premium’s fare compares across every operator in our Andaman ferry prices guide.

Makruzz premium class interior with rows of airline-style seating

What’s included? Full air conditioning (sometimes too cold — bring a light jacket), padded seats with armrests, and access to the onboard cafeteria where you can buy snacks and beverages. The seats don’t recline, but at 90 minutes, that’s not a dealbreaker. Large panoramic tinted windows line both sides, though lower deck means you’re closer to the waterline — less scenic than upper decks.

Is it comfortable enough? For most travelers, absolutely. The seats are similar to budget airline standards — not luxurious, but clean and maintained. Buy your water and snacks at the cafeteria (Rs 50-100 for basics).

Compare Makruzz Premium with economy options using the same date, passenger group and final payable total. Historical headline prices do not establish a fixed saving or the best option for every family.

Premium Class Pricing and Availability

Older records listed regular-season dates of 16 September–14 December 2025 and 16 January–31 May 2026, with Port Blair early-morning Premium at Rs 1,250 and other timings at Rs 1,775. The recorded 15 December 2025–15 January 2026 peak figures were Rs 1,350–1,875. These historical records do not establish a surcharge for your current travel dates.

Those dates and fares are historical references, not current quotations. BookYourFerry’s checkout shows the selected fare plus port fees and the applicable fuel surcharge, less any discount. Do not add an assumed GST percentage to that total; invoice-level tax treatment needs operator confirmation. See the fare and checkout breakdown.

Makruzz booking tip: Compare available departures for your travel date. An older early-morning fare does not guarantee the lowest final price or available seats.

Fuel charge in BookYourFerry checkout (checked 16 September 2026): Rs 325 per passenger, per leg for Makruzz. Review the current breakdown before payment. This code-backed amount does not verify a reason for the charge or a different booking channel’s pricing.

Makruzz Deluxe Class: Upper Deck Experience with Meals

Deluxe class puts you on the upper deck with panoramic windows and better seating for Rs 2,180-2,300. With just 63-64 seats compared to 200+ in Premium, it’s noticeably less crowded and more peaceful.

Makruzz deluxe class upper deck seating with better legroom

Compare the available seating layout, legroom and accessibility needs. An upper deck is not a guarantee of less motion sickness.

Meal inclusions: confirm the entitlement for the selected class, vessel and date. Do not assume that a class always includes or excludes a meal; published operator descriptions and ticket-specific inclusions can differ.

Makruzz deluxe class seating showing wider seats and meal tray

Compare Deluxe and Premium on the same sailing. Decide whether the confirmed seating and deck features justify the difference between the current final totals; the historical prices do not establish a fixed upgrade cost.

One tip: Book port-side seats (left side when facing forward) on the Port Blair to Havelock route. You’ll get views of the smaller islands along the way.

What’s Actually Included in Deluxe Class

Deluxe passengers get priority boarding after Royal class, dedicated upper deck restrooms (cleaner, less crowded), and better-positioned entertainment screens — each vessel features 42" TVs in main cabins and 19" TVs on upper decks. Confirm any meal or refreshment entitlement on your selected ticket. An upper-deck location is not a medical comfort guarantee.

Makruzz Royal Class: Premium Cabin Experience Worth Rs 3,150?

Royal class: compare the available cabin layout and current upgrade price on the selected sailing. Confirm refreshments and other inclusions before payment.

Makruzz Royal class private cabin with 8 pushback recliner seats

The cabin sits at the vessel’s prime location — forward upper deck with the best stability and views. Those eight pushback seats? They’re leather recliners with leg rests, more like first-class airline seats than ferry furniture. The cabin stays quieter since you’re isolated from the main passenger areas.

Royal refreshments: confirm the entitlement for your chosen vessel and ticket. We have not established that Royal is the only class with included food.

Inside Makruzz Royal class showing luxury pushback seats and privacy

Royal class may suit travellers who value its available seating and service features. Check the actual upgrade price against Deluxe on the same sailing; the historical fares do not establish a fixed price difference.

The private cabin does offer one hidden advantage — privacy for families with infants. If you’re traveling with a baby and worried about disturbing others, Royal class gives you space to manage without stress.

Which Makruzz Vessel Should You Choose: Gold, Pearl, or Standard?

MV Makruzz Gold takes the crown as the most spacious vessel with 333 total seats — 262 Premium, 63 Deluxe, and 8 Royal. Built in 1996 at Singapore’s Damen Shipyard, she’s older but meticulously maintained — you wouldn’t guess the age once inside.

MV Makruzz Pearl is listed with Premium seating. Check the vessel and class on the selected sailing; do not infer its current route from an older fleet description. BookYourFerry does not currently offer direct Port Blair → Neil or Neil → Havelock searches. The Neil-to-Havelock guide explains alternatives.

The original MV Makruzz (built 2002 at Damen Shipyard Singapore) is the oldest in the fleet — it shows a bit more age than Gold or Pearl, but the maintenance is solid and everything works as it should. She offers the most balanced configuration — 280 total seats with all three classes available, handling the 6:00 AM early bird from Port Blair.

Announced for the 2026-27 season: MV Makruzz Ruby — a 199-seat vessel (166 Premium, 24 Deluxe, 9 Royal per its published seat layout) that Makruzz’s published plan slots into the mid-morning gap: Port Blair→Havelock at 8:45 AM, Havelock→Neil at 10:45 AM, and Neil→Port Blair at 12:15 PM, with published Premium fares of Rs 1,950, Rs 1,800 and Rs 1,850. None of these Ruby departures were in bookable inventory for 1 or 15 October 2026 when we checked on 29 September; treat them as unconfirmed until they appear in live search. One thing worth knowing before you book: Ruby is a Premium-only vessel in practice. Her seat plan does include 24 Deluxe and 9 Royal places, but Makruzz’s 2026-27 schedule prices Premium alone and the live booking system offers no other class on her sailings — we checked. If you want Deluxe or Royal, take MV Makruzz or Gold instead.

MV Makruzz Ruby moored at Port Blair, the fleet's fourth vessel joining October 2026

Ruby matters most for the Havelock→Neil hop. Until now that leg leaned on a thin set of departures; If Ruby enters service as published, its 10:45 AM would add a mid-morning option pairing with an 8:45 AM arrival from Port Blair, which would make a same-day Port Blair→Havelock→Neil run practical without an overnight.

All vessels cruise at 30-32 knots, delivering that consistent 90-minute Port Blair-Havelock timing. Avoid Pearl if you need direct Port Blair-Havelock service. She always stops at Neil Island first, adding 30-45 minutes.

What Is the Onboard Experience on Makruzz?

Makruzz onboard cafeteria with snacks and beverage counter

Onboard refreshments and their inclusions can vary by vessel and class. Confirm the service offered on your sailing and whether it is included or purchased separately; this guide does not verify a current catering supplier.

Entertainment systems run throughout the journey — overhead screens play Bollywood movies, though most passengers spend the 90 minutes enjoying sea views or napping. CCTV monitoring and trained crew ensure passenger safety across all decks.

Makruzz Booking Guide 2026: Step-by-Step From Search to Boarding Pass

Compare Makruzz’s departures against every other operator in the full Andaman ferry schedule.

The process is nearly identical across operators — our step-by-step Andaman ferry booking guide covers documents, payments and ticket rules in one place.

Check released Makruzz sailings for your actual dates. Booking windows and class availability can change. Follow the reconfirmation and boarding instructions supplied with your ticket.

When Makruzz Bookings Open and Why Timing Matters

Search your dates to see which Makruzz sailings have been released. This guide does not verify a fixed release hour, universal advance window or rate at which each class fills.

Planning suggestions, not availability guarantees:

  • December-January travel: check suitable released sailings early if your itinerary is fixed
  • March-May travel: compare current dates and classes before confirming connections
  • June-September travel: allow weather buffers and confirm the ticket’s cancellation and rescheduling terms

The Actual Makruzz Booking Process — Step by Step

The cleanest path is through our comparison interface, which surfaces Makruzz alongside all four operators with live inventory and shows class-level pricing in one view:

  1. Select route + date. Port Blair → Havelock, Havelock → Port Blair, Havelock → Neil, or any combination. Multi-leg bookings can be done as separate legs (Makruzz doesn’t sell combo tickets).
  2. Pick vessel + timing. Important: every Makruzz vessel sells Premium, but only MV Makruzz and MV Makruzz Gold carry Deluxe and Royal — Pearl is Premium-only, and Ruby sells Premium only for the 2026-27 season. If you want Deluxe or Royal, check which vessel runs your departure before selecting.
  3. Enter the correct passenger category and details. Check the actual fare returned for each traveller; do not infer a fixed nationality-based price difference from older guide copy.
  4. Enter passenger details. First name + last name must exactly match the photo ID you’ll carry. Aadhaar, passport, or driver’s licence works; voter ID and PAN do not.
  5. Pay. Use a payment method offered by the checkout, then check for the issued operator ticket and booking reference. Contact support if it is missing before paying again.
  6. Follow the reconfirmation instructions on your ticket. Ask the operator or support whether any pre-travel action is required; do not assume a particular deadline or automatic cancellation penalty from an older guide.
  7. Prepare the required ticket format. Follow the selected operator’s current ticket-format and ID instructions. Carry an accessible ticket copy and a printed backup; this guide does not establish universal acceptance or rejection of mobile tickets.

Makruzz Booking Gotchas We’ve Seen

  • Name mismatch = no boarding. A booking under “Rahul K” with an Aadhaar showing “Rahul Kumar” gets refused at the counter. The booking system pads short names internally but the boarding agent only sees what you typed. Type the full legal name.
  • Requested date changes: For BYF bookings, read BookYourFerry’s published passenger cancellation policy and ask support to confirm change deadlines, charges and fare differences for your ticket. Operator-direct terms require separate confirmation.
  • Group of 10+ gets routed through their corporate desk (corporate@makruzz.com). The website allows up to 8 in a single booking; for 9-10 people you can split across two bookings, but for true groups the corporate line gives better fare flexibility.
  • Foreign tourist booking requires passport number at the time of booking. Pre-fill this carefully — corrections at the counter are slow and risk missing the boarding window.

Cancellation Refund Schedule

For BookYourFerry bookings: our published passenger cancellation policy states that an operator cancellation for weather or technical reasons qualifies for a 100% refund including all fees, or a free reschedule. This guide does not change that BYF commitment. Operator-direct and government ticket conditions are separate and need confirmation.

For operator-direct bookings, consult Makruzz’s published terms. We checked that page on 17 September 2026, but it still contains older travel notices and tax wording, so it is not invoice-level confirmation of current fare inclusions. BYF bookings follow the published policy above; ask support to confirm deductions and refundable fees for your ticket.

How Safe and Reliable Is Makruzz Ferry?

Makruzz ferry captain's deck and navigation equipment

Makruzz bridge crew navigating with charts and instruments, an operational-excellence award on the console

Makruzz uses twin-hull catamarans designed for fast inter-island service. We have not found a public, audited punctuality dataset that supports a numeric comparison with other Andaman operators.

All vessels undergo regular maintenance inspections and carry full safety equipment including life rafts, life jackets for all passengers, and modern navigation systems. English-speaking trained crew members are available on every voyage.

Makruzz vs Competitors: How Does It Stack Up in 2026?

Makruzz ferry strikes the middle ground perfectly — more reliable than budget operators, less expensive than ultra-premium services.

Makruzz vs Competitors: How Does It Stack Up in 2026?
Operator Premium/Economy Mid-Range Luxury Journey Time Reliability
Green Ocean Rs 1,100 Rs 1,200 Rs 1,500 2h 15m Good
Makruzz Rs 1,250-1,775 Rs 2,180-2,300 Rs 2,940-3,150 1h 30m Very Good
Nautika Rs 1,250-1,800 Rs 1,500-2,150 Rs 3,300-3,400* 1h 30m Very Good
ITT Majestic Rs 1,850 Rs 2,050 Not available 1h 30m Good

*Nautika’s Rs 3,300-3,400 is for Business Class on Nautika Pro, not directly comparable to Royal

Compare Makruzz with the other available operators using the departure, final total, seating and confirmed amenities that matter to you. Check Green Ocean and Nautika as alternatives; no operator is guaranteed cheapest for every date.

Makruzz Class Selection Guide: Which One is Right for You?

Choose Premium if you’re backpacking, traveling solo, or just need reliable transport without frills. At Rs 1,250-1,775, it’s the sensible choice for budget-conscious travelers.

Deluxe may make sense if its confirmed seating and deck features suit your group. Compare the actual upgrade cost for the sailing you select.

Royal class fits special occasions, business travelers, elderly passengers needing maximum comfort, and families with infants who value privacy.

For first-time visitors unsure about the Makruzz premium vs royal debate: Deluxe class offers a comfortable middle ground — upper deck views and better seats without the Royal price tag. But if the included food and private cabin matter, Royal is the only class that delivers those.

How to Assess Recent Makruzz Reviews

Read recent reviews for the specific vessel and route you are considering. Look for dated comments about boarding, cabin condition, staff communication and handling of schedule changes. Individual experiences do not establish an operator-wide punctuality rate or guarantee your sailing.

We are withholding the previous rating, review-count summary and quoted review sample until their source links, collection date and attribution can be checked. Use the current sailing details and ticket conditions alongside any reviews when deciding.

FAQ Section: Common Makruzz Questions

Is food included in Makruzz Premium or Deluxe class?

Meal and refreshment inclusions need confirmation for your selected vessel, class and date. Ask before paying; onboard purchases may be charged separately.

Can I upgrade my Makruzz class after booking?

For a BYF booking, contact support to check whether a class upgrade is available and which fare difference or change conditions apply. Read BookYourFerry’s published passenger cancellation policy; operator-direct upgrade terms need separate confirmation.

Which Makruzz vessel has Royal class available?

MV Makruzz and MV Makruzz Gold both offer Royal class with 8 seats each. MV Makruzz Pearl operates Premium class only.

How far in advance should I book Makruzz tickets?

If your dates are fixed, search for released sailings early and book a suitable available option. There is no verified universal sell-out deadline for Royal, Deluxe or Premium; follow your ticket’s reconfirmation instructions.

What happens if my Makruzz ferry gets cancelled due to weather?

If Makruzz cancels your sailing, contact support to confirm the available alternatives and any refund conditions. BYF bookings follow the published policy; confirm the process and notification timing with support.

Is Makruzz better than Green Ocean ferries?

The better choice depends on your dates, confirmed vessel, journey time, class preferences and final payable price. Compare Makruzz with Green Ocean for the same passenger group rather than assuming a fixed price difference.

Can I get seasick on Makruzz ferries?

Motion discomfort is possible on any crossing, and this guide does not establish a passenger incidence rate. Ask a doctor or pharmacist about suitable precautions and any medicine; follow crew instructions.

What’s the baggage limit on Makruzz ferries?

25 kg per person checked baggage is free. Carry one small handbag into the cabin.

Is Makruzz Royal class worth the extra cost for a 90-minute journey?

Choose a class using its available seating, confirmed inclusions and actual upgrade cost for your sailing. No class is best value for every traveller; check accessibility and cabin details rather than assuming guaranteed privacy.
