Three things differ by date:

• The vessel. Makruzz moves its four vessels between sailings. On 15 October 2026 the 6:00 AM and 11:30 AM sailings were on Makruzz Pearl.
• The number of sailings. The same check returned 11 direct sailings for 15 October 2026 (no 8:45 AM Makruzz) and 12 for 22 December 2026.
• The fare. Makruzz fares for 22 December 2026 were Rs 100 higher in every class. Nautika and Green Ocean fares were the same on all three dates.

Which Are the Best Ferry Operators for Port Blair to Havelock?

Three private operators were sailing this route when we checked: Makruzz, Nautika and Green Ocean. A fourth, ITT Majestic, is expected to resume in October 2026; its start date had not been announced. The three differ in journey time, in the classes they sell and in price. The figures below are from the same 5 October 2026 check.

Makruzz Ferry Service

Makruzz has the most departures: five a day, at 6:00, 8:00, 8:45 and 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM, each taking 90 minutes.

• Vessels on this route: Makruzz, Makruzz Gold, Makruzz Pearl and Makruzz Ruby
• Classes: Premium, Deluxe and Royal. Deluxe and Royal were offered on Makruzz and Makruzz Gold; Pearl and Ruby sold Premium only
• Fares: Premium Rs 1,250 on the 6:00 AM sailing and Rs 1,950 on the others; Deluxe Rs 2,540; Royal Rs 3,500
• Good to know: the 6:00 AM sailing costs Rs 700 less in Premium than the later ones

Royal is a small cabin. Each sailing showed four Royal seats or fewer when we checked, so book it early if you want it.

Nautika Ferry Experience

Nautika runs four sailings a day on two vessels, Nautika and Nautika Pro, each taking 90 minutes.

• Nautika (6:15 AM and 11:00 AM): Luxury Rs 1,250 at 6:15 AM and Rs 1,900 at 11:00 AM; Royal Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,100
• Nautika Pro (7:30 AM and 12:30 PM): Pro Luxury Rs 1,900 and Rs 1,800; Pro Royal Rs 2,100 and Rs 2,000; Pro Business Rs 3,400 and Rs 3,300
• Good to know: the 6:15 AM sailing is the lowest-priced fast ferry of the day, level with the 6:00 AM Makruzz

Green Ocean has the lowest fares on the route and the longest crossing: 2 hours on Green Ocean 2 and 2 hours 15 minutes on Green Ocean 1.

Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram) is where almost every Andaman trip begins, because the islands’ airport is there. Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) is the most visited island, home to Radhanagar Beach and most of the diving and snorkelling. For most visitors this crossing is the first ferry of the trip, which is why three operators run it and why most departures are in the morning.

To plan your day, add the time at the jetty to the time at sea. For a 6:00 AM sailing that means being at Haddo Jetty by about 5:00 to 5:15 AM and stepping off at Havelock at 7:30 AM.

Choosing a departure time

Pick the sailing that fits the rest of your day, then compare its fare.

• Staying in Port Blair the night before: the 6:00 AM Makruzz and 6:15 AM Nautika put you on Havelock by 7:45 AM, and they are the lowest-priced fast sailings of the day.
• Landing at Port Blair the same morning: leave time to collect your bags, reach the jetty and check in. The later sailings are at 11:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 1:15 PM and 2:00 PM. After 2:00 PM there is no direct private ferry until the next morning.
• Watching the budget: Green Ocean 1 at 1:15 PM had Economy at Rs 1,050.

An early sailing is not a promise of a calm sea, and a ferry can be delayed, so avoid a tight connection with a flight. Government services are booked separately through DSS/STARS and are not in the list above.

Each operator names its classes differently. In order of price:

• Makruzz: Premium, Deluxe, Royal
• Nautika: Luxury, Royal
• Nautika Pro: Pro Luxury, Pro Royal, Pro Business

Is the Port Blair to Havelock Ferry Really a “Cruise”?

No. It is a daytime ferry crossing of 90 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes, and nobody runs an overnight or multi-day cruise between Port Blair and Havelock. When a “Port Blair to Havelock cruise” is advertised, it is one of the ferries on this page.

Cruise-Style Classes Worth the Upgrade

The classes usually sold as “cruise” seats are the top ones:

• Makruzz Royal: Rs 3,500, on the vessels that have a Royal cabin
• Nautika Pro Business: Rs 3,300 to Rs 3,400, on Nautika Pro only
• Makruzz Deluxe: Rs 2,540, the step between Premium and Royal

These cabins are small. On each sailing we checked, Royal and Pro Business had eight seats or fewer left, so they are the first to go.

Standard Ferry Classes That Aren’t “Cruise”

Makruzz Premium, Nautika Luxury, Nautika Pro Luxury and Green Ocean Premium are the main cabins, where most passengers travel. They cost Rs 1,250 to Rs 1,950 and use the same vessel and take the same time as the classes above them.

Should You Pay for the Cruise Upgrade?

The upgrade buys a smaller, quieter cabin for the same crossing. It does not make the ferry faster, and no class is a remedy for motion sickness; see the motion-sickness guide for general precautions.

A simple way to decide: on the 8:00 AM Makruzz, Premium is Rs 1,950, Deluxe Rs 2,540 and Royal Rs 3,500. If Rs 590 to Rs 1,550 more per person is worth a quieter cabin for 90 minutes, upgrade. If not, Premium gets you there at the same time.

The private ferries to Havelock leave from Haddo Jetty in Port Blair. Reach the jetty 45 to 60 minutes before departure, and earlier in late December and early January.

Why Travelers Take the Port Blair to Havelock Ferry

Most passengers are heading for Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7) on the west coast. Havelock is also the base for scuba diving and for snorkelling at Elephant Beach, which is reached by a short boat ride from the jetty (boat prices & booking).

How Long to Stay on Havelock Island

The ferry takes 90 minutes or more each way, so one night on Havelock leaves a single full day. Many visitors stay two or three nights, then either return on the Havelock to Port Blair ferry or go on to Neil Island on the Havelock to Neil ferry. Where to Land — Havelock’s Jetty
