Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information
At BookYourFerry.com, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by BookYourFerry.com and how we use it.
If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us.
Log Files
BookYourFerry.com follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this as part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
Cookies and Web Beacons
Like any other website, BookYourFerry.com uses "cookies". These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.
ChatGPT Advertising Measurement
When you arrive from a ChatGPT ad, we use OpenAI's server-side Conversions API to measure the ad's performance unless you turn this measurement off. We send an opaque ad-click identifier, event timestamps, searches, checkout starts and captured payment amounts in INR. Payment capture is not the same as ticket issuance. This integration does not send your name, email, phone number, passenger details, IP address or browser user agent, and does not load OpenAI's browser pixel. Events are marked to opt out of future user-level advertising personalization.
There is no separate measurement popup. A secure first-party cookie and encrypted server records retain the measurement setting and eligible attribution for up to 30 days from setup or update. This notice is not a record of affirmative consent. You can turn measurement off below. We respect previously saved declines and Global Privacy Control. Turning it off stops future sends, including queued events, but cannot recall events already delivered; it does not affect booking or other services described in this policy.
Our local attribution window is 30 days from when we first record an identifier, not proof of the original ad-click time. OpenAI applies its own attribution rules. We retain a keyed fingerprint for up to 37 days to recognise repeat identifiers, including after measurement is turned off or cookies are deleted; recognition is not possible after that record is deleted. Encrypted order bindings can remain until that local 30-day window ends, but are not sent while measurement is off. Pending events expire after seven days and withdrawn events are not revived. Database cleanup may occur later than expiry; expired records are not used.
The click parameter is removed from the browser address before our page analytics initialise. It is held temporarily in memory while the measurement setting is checked, and stored encrypted on our server only when measurement is enabled. We send keyed, non-readable event references for deduplication, not our preference record ID or Razorpay order ID. Short-lived keyed abuse-prevention counters contain no raw network addresses and are not sent to OpenAI. See OpenAI's privacy policy for its data practices.
Third Party Privacy Policies
BookYourFerry.com's Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information. It may include their practices and instructions about how to opt-out of certain options.
You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. To know more detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers, it can be found at the browsers' respective websites.
Children's Information
Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
BookYourFerry.com does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
Online Privacy Policy Only
This Privacy Policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in BookYourFerry.com. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.
